Multiple DUIs

Defense Attorney for Multiple DUI Charges

While a DUI/DWI arrest can have a large impact on your life, a second one can make a permanent change. If you have been charged with a second or third DUI, talk to an attorney immediately to take action.

Contact me — Michael F. Dunn, Attorney at Law — by calling my Glenside, Pennsylvania, law firm at 215-392-4361 to talk about your legal options. I will thoroughly explore all avenues to defend you against the charges you face. If I am not able to successfully resolve your multiple DUI charges through dismissal or plea negotiation, I am willing to take your case to trial to get results.

The Consequences of Multiple DUI Convictions

People arrested for multiple DUIs may face a wide range of consequences in addition to increased jail time. They may find their names and news of the arrest published in the local newspaper. They may also be required to participate in house arrest with an ankle monitoring bracelet, and be required to use an ignition interlock device on their car.

For a second offense, you may be required to have a full one-year or 18-month driver's license suspension followed by a year with a restricted driver's license — one that only allows you to operate a motor vehicle that has an ignition interlock device installed.

Many people who experienced multiple DUI arrests struggle with a drinking problem. These people may have other options available to them instead of jail. They may seek a treatment option where they participate in alcohol treatment programs in lieu of jail time.
